Challenge
At Citi Institutional Clients Group, there was no design system in place, leading to inconsistent UI elements across applications, which frustrated users and slowed development. Later, at US Bank, the existing design system needed expansion to support new digital wallet features for Zelle and Paze, requiring consensus across the enterprise UX group to ensure scalability and alignment.
Solution
At Citi, my team and I pioneered a comprehensive design system, developing a code-based library for all UI elements to ensure a consistent look and feel across applications. At US Bank, we proposed and designed new components for the design system, presenting them to the enterprise UX group for discussion and approval, which enhanced scalability and unified the user experience for digital wallet solutions.
My Role
At Citi, I conceptualized and built the design system’s code-based library from scratch, defining styles, components, and guidelines to standardize UI elements. At US Bank, I proposed new design system elements for Zelle and Paze, creating prototypes in Sketch and Adobe XD, and facilitated discussions with the enterprise UX group to refine and integrate them into the existing system.
My Leadership
Led the end-to-end creation of Citi’s design system, collaborating with designers and developers to implement the library and ensure adoption across teams. At US Bank, I drove the proposal process for new components, coordinating with the enterprise UX group to align on standards, and fostered a collaborative environment that prioritized consistency and innovation.
